Kind of a rant, but after reading an article on aspartame about a year ago I went cold turkey on anything with it in. But it is getting harder and harder to avoid artificial sweeteners. I dont want them in my diet, but packages are rarely marked clearly if they contain them. I just finished a pack of yougart that I didnt notice until the last on that there was a small insignia for splenda. All that crap gives be headaches, and has been linked to all sorts of nasty effects such as brain tumors and chronic migraine headaches. Rant over.

I couldn't agree with you more, but here's the thing...things like aspartame and the like have been found to have negative side effects but it is usually in the long run so as long as you are not consuming it daily or even on a semi-regular basis, you should be a-ok. Just avoid what you can and rest assured you are much better off than all the other people drinking diet soda and fat-free products because "it has no fat so it has to be great for you"! haha

coffee, water, fruit, vegetables: no artificial sweeteners in them.

you should be weary about anything that comes packaged or is otherwise mass produced.
