I am planning on riding this route (http://www.mapmyrun.com/run/united-states/tx/fort-worth/703101954) tomorrow or monday, ending at the green mark and turning around (nearly 70mi round trip)... it's to a friend's house and back to see if I'm up for doing the HHH. To those who are more experienced cyclists in this area, Is this a crazy route traffic/hazard-wise? I've only ridden up to where the dam is on winscott and back on this particular route, only to notice when I got home that I could have gone all the way by the reservoir... which then can be ridden to 1187 etc... hopefully it won't be impossible to cross 377?
Hey, this is also my first thread on BF! HELLO!

You should be ok for the most part, and crossing 377 isn't a big deal. However, Benbrook ark is now a pay to ride, so bring some bucks with you!
Welcome!
Pay to ride? When did that happen? I rode there 2-3 weeks ago and waved at the rangers in the pay station as I breezed by.
That route passes within 200 meters of my house. Welcome, darkhorseman - traffic should be pretty easy along there..

Thanks for the responses!!! I rode the route yesterday, and Google actually screwed up and shows a road that doesn't even exist (yet?) so I ended up detouring quite a bit making my ride a crazy 82 miles (yeah... well, I haven't gone much more than 35 to 45 miles in my less-than-a-month of cycling.. I'm proud!). I did really well on hydration but I should have eaten more as I was pretty dead by the time I neared the end... plus it's pretty much all uphill the way home, took a good 6 hours
Oh.. and yeah, it cost me a whole 1 dollar to ride through benbrook... they give you a piece of paper you hold on to as an all day pass. That route was worth the damn dollar. haha. On my way back through it was around 11am and the lady at the gate was like "oh don't bother, it's too hot to dilly! have a good ride!" So I suppose if you waited until it's hot outside.......
Anyways... the ride was amazing! I'm glad I woke up early enough

I leve about 3 miles from the lake -- you should have seen it when everything was under water a few weeks ago. It was quite a site.
