I think my expectations were unrealistically high for it, as I loved Shaun of the Dead. Hot Fuzz definitely had a good share of its moments (that first drop kick to the face of the old lady by the side of the road nearly made me pee my pants from laughter), but overall, it kinda dragged for me in some places and wasn't as tightly put together as SOTD was. Still a fun movie, but nowhere near as good as SOTD, I think.

I asked a prostitute once if she'd ever been picked up by the fuzz. She told me no, but she'd been swung around by her boobs a few times.

I agree, it wasn't as fast out of the gate as SOTD and took a while to get rolling. But once up to speed with a good head of steam, it went crashing hell bent towards the conclusion. I did find some cute subtle jokes bandied about early on that seemed to fly just under the radar, that you'd miss if you weren't paying attention or have a a bit of clue to the allusion. :D

Great movie. Loved the special effects dealing with the head bad guy at the end.

Was hoping for beatdown to the beat of a Queen song or something similar to the one in SOTD.

I could have sworn there was a scene in Hot Fuzz when "Don't Stop Me Now" was playing somewhere.... maybe I'm remembering incorrectly.
