Mountain Biking - How bout a mag?

My pardner wanted to know if there is a particular mountain biking magazine that is good to read. I said, "I don't know."

So I am calling to the masses of intelligence on this forum to give me suggestions. :D

Wow, I just noticed that after starting this new thread, I have upped my status to "Member":o I am no longer "Junior". Amazing!!:thumbup:

Alot of people like Dirt Rag. I also really like Bike magazine. And Mountain Bike Action. Check out their websites too!

Mountain Bike Action is my choice. It has a lot of great bargin ads, and not as much "fluff" as some of the others.

Bike has the best photos.

And everyone here knows I cant read.

I like reading Mountain Bike Action, but here in the UK it's either MBUK, or Mountain Biker...

Not nearly as good as their American cousins.

BIKE MAG!!!!! It is the only one!!! Dirt Rag is way up there too. But you CANNOT!!!!! get Mountain Bike. They suck!! If you subscribe to them I will stop coming to the forums.....:D

Hands down, the best MTB mag is Dirtrag. If you really want to break it down, it goes like this:

If you want great reading and decent photos, get Dirtrag.

If you want great photos and decent reading, get Bike.

If you want to read egotistical nonsense from the editors, get Mountain Bike.

If you want to pay for a mag full of ads and articles that resemble ads, buy Mountain Bike Action.

And of course, if you want to read about single speeding, read Single Speed Outlaw. ;)

Calm down, I just wanted a few suggestions. I have no itentions of subscribing to anything at this point. I would never want you to leave the forum.:(

My vote is an exact duplication of RiderX, and yes I have read issue #2 of S.S.O. Nice job BTW!!!

I like Mountain Bike Action, and Dirt Rag. Mountain Bike is ok but there's too much editor rant as someone said before.

Dirt Rag is a must read. I like mountain bike action also.

Why the name change boomer?

Alas, I did build up a Single Speed, but I had to succumb to the wishes of my lungs and legs and went back to a shifter.

However, I've got my eyes on a Haro Single Speed to add to my quiver of bikes.

Name change? Well, I was feeling unoriginal the day I first signed up as a new user here. I thought a2psyklnut was more appropriate to my mental state.

I really like UK`s Mountain bike rider,the style is superbe and articles are great.
And it takes me a weak to read all the storys:thumbup:

this is probly irrelevant because i have no preferencem but for my 14 b-day a few weeks ago i got a subscription to Bicycling Mag, and Bike Mag. Bike is really fun to read, and Bicycling has lotsa info. I dont object to either simply because they were b-day gifts.

Dirt Rag has a nice underground "cult" vibe to it.. with no B.S , Mountain Bike has kinda "copped out" to mainstream B.S, Mountain Bike Action is not quite as "copped out" as Mountain Bike !,but very "L.A", BIKE MAG has bueatiful photo's and fairly good articles and tries to remain "hardcore" and honest, and BICYCLING has a bit of everything, be it dirt or road..buy one of each,read them , then make your own descision !!... Oh B.T.W , the British mags seem to full of advertising !!nice FAT mag to pick up, but full of crap !!!!!
