Hi, im looking for recomendations for pedals. I was looking to for something that was relativley light platform pedal. I have looked at the Time Z's and the Crank Bros Mallet C, but want to see what other ones are out there. It doesnt have to have a clipless system, like the Times and Crank Bros, but something that grips well.
thanks
Mallet C, I love my eggs normal, but with a platform all the better!

I've got a pair of Shimano 646's and a pair of 545's. I also have a pair of TIME A.T.A.C's that I really like, so my next set will probably be the Time's Control Z's.

Rather than start a new thread, I figured I would ask here. I'm on the market for some pedals as well and have finally narrowed it down to three options I think. The Speedplay frogs, Shimano PD-M646, and the Crank Bros. Egg Beaters. I need something that can support my weight (300ish, I know big guy), has good float so I don't have knee problems, and obviously is durable as heck. I don't know of any shops that carry the Mallet C, how do they compare to the first 2 on my list? Anyone have experience with any of these to compare them for a larger rider. I asked some questions last week about pedals, got some good replies, did some more research and then bought some Sidi Dominator 2 Mega shoes this weekend. I was planning on testing some pedals this week and wanted to know if there were any others I should add to the list. I heard that Time is a good Clydesdale pedal, any other comments about these in comparison to the others. To many options, to many options ... hehehhe.
I have time pedals they seem to be very strong pedals, and easy to clip into and get out of. Then you have otpion fo the Z-control or standard Time atac pedals.

I really like my Time A.T.A.C.'s! I'm also a pretty big rider 250 + and have had NO problems with them.
At your weight, forget about titanium, you'll bend any titanium axle. Stick with a Chromoly axle.
I doubt you'd find ANY shop that has the Mallet yet. They were just released and are not everywhere yet.
I considered the Crank Bros, but was apprehensive about their lack of platform (real or imagined), and would definately consider it for future purchases.
I've just been so happy with my Time's, so I'd probably opt for the Controls.

I have Time Z Controlls, they are really nice. I use a pair of Time Scolop shoes which mesh perfectly with the platform, making the shoes extra sturdy. The system works pretty well not clipped in as well. I have had no problems with these pedals, but you might want to get a pair of Time shoes to get the best results.
I can vouch for those Azonic A-frames pictured above. They're a solid pedal, especially when you have goofy big feet like mine. They're concave and really provide a lot of grip, cheap too.
