I will be needing new pedals and was wondering which pedals (and why these pedals) are the best for freeriding. I am thinking bmw shinburgers, for 110.00 but the shoes i ride in are not flat bottomed, i ride in hiking type shoes. What do you recomend, for around a 100.00

I've been using the Shimano MX30 for about 6 months and I love them. They are light, good looking, solid and grippy:

i love my crank bros, the wide body offers alot of room for your foot to pivot around and gives great traction. plus they come in alot of colors so they look really good

Five.Ten Impacts with any pedals will be grippier than normal hiking shoes with any other pedals.

I am a fan of the Specialized Lo Pro Mag 2 pedals - light weight, low profile, 3 bearings & 1 bushing per pedal.

and I have also heard good things about the more affordable Wellgo MG-1.

i wouldnt get the crankbros. very expensive, not very light, huge profile, not a hell of a lot of grip even with the replaceable pins. go with the specialized.

I would recommend the Syncros Mental alloys but they're about $60 beyond your budget. Grippiest pedals I've ever put my feet on though (or been bitten by).

Check again - I just ordered another pair 30 minutes ago and they still show in stock.
