hi, not sure if this is ok to post here or not but I am a clyde so maybe someone can help me out...
I bought some pedals from a LBS recently: shimano pd-r540 with an spd sl designation...

I found some bike shoes on nashbar that sound like a pretty good deal. they are spd compatible but the sizes are 38-48... Im kind of used to buying normal shoes and I wear an 11.5 wide shoe... how does that translate to size for a road shoe... please excuse if this is a stupid questiong but I am a noob in this area...

Bike shoes are sized according to European sizing. They also vary slightly from brand to brand, so a size 47 SIDI probably won't be exactly the same size as a 47 Pearl Izumi. Here's a conversion chart from Nashbar:

If you have any doubts, you might be better off buying from your LBS so you can ensure a proper fit.
