It's about that time that my bike needs new tires. I was thinking about putting a 23c tire in the front and 25c in the rear. Though the sizes are about as close as you can get, is it unwise to do something like this?

Go to Sheldon Brown's website. Somewhere on there (probably under tires) he has a complete explanation of tire widths and the different things you can achieve with different combinations of widths.

As long as your wheels will fit in, then there shouldn't be any problem at all.

Damn! Sheldon Brown's website completely slipped my mind. Yeah, I checked it out and he does have explanations. Thanks a lot.

As long as you're not running an aerospoke rear. If you put a 25 on an aerospoke the wind will knock you over.
