I've ridden with Capitol Hill Bikes Sunday rides, and have done the Arlington Hills route a few times, but just don't remember the route well.

Anyone know of a queue sheet or published rtoute on toporoutes or motionbased so I can study the route a bit...? i have some free time tomorrow and want to hit it...

Tnx...

17.5 miles of heavy breathing. Tons of fun. Full route details on NCVC's website. A killer group does it during lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Be sure to wave at my neighborhood (Chain Bridge Forest) as you make the transition from Old Glebe to regular Glebe.

Watch the bike lanes on the middle of the Military Road section; they did some repaving on the cross streets and left asphalt pebbles on the main road in some spots.

I suggest the BabesOnBikes.org site for hill routes. Try this one ...

Ha, that one runs right past my house, which is not easy because I am waaaayyy back in the woods, backed up to the GW Parkway forest corridor just above the Potomac River. Taxis and pizza guys have trouble finding it.

Anyway, it is a truly hilly route. But it uses Old Dominion three times, which I would never do unless it was early in the morning (before 8) on a weekend. Two-lane road used by tons of commuters and shoppers; no shoulder; blind entrances and driveways. Serious fatality potential.

FYI, I wouldn't do the NCVC Arlington Hill route during rush hour either, because the commuters on Glebe have limited patience. I have a work-around that avoids all but 150 yards of it, but it's so twisted it's a "locals only" kind of thing.

We have probably seen each other then. If you see a silver Bike Friday, say hi.
