View Full Version : NorCal BikeForums club..
... has been created at http://bikejournal.com
SoCal folks already have a club on that website, so I thought why shouldn't we. And I created one.
There are no yearly goals set right now, but it could be changed later (or, better, we set goals for 2008).
So, login to bikejournal (register if you haven't done it yet) and add NorCal BikeForums club to your profile ;)

I've belonged to bikejournal for ages, but it never occurred to me to set up a NoCal bf club - so thanks !

bikejournal is new to me, but apparently old stuff to many of you. could someone explain what it is and why I might want to use it?

What can you do in this "club" that you can't already do in this forum?

nothing much, really. Just yet another place to see who is in NorCal (maybe easier place -- look at the members, instead of looking at the [quite long] "Let's get to know each other.." thread.)
I just thought it be cool to have online club over there, so I created it.

the main purpose of bikejournal is to log miles. you can either "just log 'em" or you can set yearly goal (for yourself) and track your progress. if you are training, it's a convenient online tool to track you weekly mileage.

It's so you can look at everyone and say my 'mileage' is bigger than yours ;)
J/K!
I think it's a cool idea. Good job Ivan.
When, I'm done with my new build in a couple weeks, I will post a pic of it up there too.

Right now I'm uploading all my Garmin data to MotionBased, keeps a really nice ride history (permanent I hope). So I don't think I need another database. Am I unclear on the concept?

How to you add rides/mileage to your total.
From the Journal, I "add ride" but I only get these options:
Ride Date: Ride Type: Bike: Club affiliation:
Am I not seeing it?

you have to be away from the club page, Henry. Go to the home page and there is a link up top in one of the drop down menus labeled Journal...
I just moved my miles into NorCal.

Wow. I'm signed on. I'm not at all sure what it all means or if I'll fine it at all cool, but I'm giving it a shot and uploading my miles as soon as I get a chance to check my records... if I can figure it out...

Just added my mileage from today's Mt. Tam ride. Didn't quite get a century in, but it was still some good mileage.
