hola. I read about plans to make a cart bike using a shopping cart, hacksaw, lotsa U-clamps and 2 forks. I wan't something a bit more functional for the long haul that doesn't stop with, now all I have to do is find a welder, for free. If anyone has suggestions of sites, pictures, or personal succeses/and failures I would love to hear about them. Thanks, RideLikeHell

I disagree with their method of getting a cart. Steal is real.

Head tube angle needs to be modified to the vertical or this thing will put you instantly into the dirt if you even think of turning.

none of these really answers my initial question. I need alternatives to the no steering shopping cart design. i.e. wood, or other materials. specificallly mounting. please respond if you've got a hint. thanks for the thoughts.

Why not just make a trailer out of the shopping cart? Clamp two forks onto the sides pointing back for the wheels and use some of the pipe that makes up the base for the arm. Seems safer you know?
It would make a LOT MORE SENSE to simply pull a trailer.
No cart gets stolen and no bike gets ruined.

I also think a trailer is a better solution. Sorry, know it's not what you want, but if you wish, check the link for a nice trailer conversion.

That totally wasn't your original question, but whatever.
