Well ... techinically, I ride everyday, but this was the first time I've ever gotten on a bike with anything in mind other than just popping down to to the video / grocery store.
Went 15 miles in 1:01 with an average speed of 14.7 mph. Big fun!! :D Some urban sections getting to/from a MUP with dedicated bike lanes.
As any of you who have read my other post know, this new relationship with cycling is part of an overall plan to lose 50lbs (hopefully within a year). With than in mind - should I do a ride like this again tomorrow, or wait a day?
I could have gone further easily if I had gone slower, but I was really trying to see how long I could maintain my top speed, which was 16 - 20mph (the city sections brough the average down). My thighs feel it a bit, and I was working pretty hard, but it was more fun than I expected it would be.
Thanks for all the great ideas, tips, encouraging stories etc.
