RAAM is not only a long race, it takes a long time to pull it together. I am starting that process here on the Bike Forums to start pulling together Team Magic Waters' effort for the 2008 event.
Last year my team was known as "Beat Cancer", yes the one with all the controversy on this forum. We are raising money for the Magic Water Project, see www.magicwater.org for details. What I am going for this early is to address some of those very early on expenses.
Where does the money go? All money for expenses go to expenses for the ride, chances are their will be none left over. If there is, it goes to the charity. If you donate directly to the charity, it is impossible for us to access that money for the ride. However, all donations are tax deductible.
The Magic Water Project is a non-profit that directly supports research to help fight two different classes of children's cancer. Please see http://www.360cycling.com for details on the ride, the riders, the charity. Please ask me Rick Schulze (rick@360cycling.com) if you have any questions at all, they will help me make the FAQ better.
Our web site will be updated several times over the next two months, please drop in often to check out our progress and find out more about the kids involved.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
