Thanks mate. What model did you get? The new models are out now and you can get up to 175lm with 2xAA which IMHO rocks my socks off.
I'm leaning more on the P3D for the 200lm beaming tho I need to find cheap and long lasting 123 batt's first.

The 2xAA L2D Rebel @ 175lm and the P3D @ 200lm are about the same price. One can last 4.8hr on high tho..
From what I've read rechargeable 123's aren't very good, and look to be a lot more expensive and nowhere near as widely available as AAs. I got one of the 175lm L2Ds, and am also waiting for delivery. Looking forward to it!

I plan on using rechargeable RCR123's with a set of CR123 as backups. In my area I'm surrounded with hills. You go up one hill you're bound to go down the other and if not then on the return home you will. Brighter is better in my case weI tend to fly down ~50kph and in some sections pitch black.
Tho I am waiting for restock on the 175lm L2D's and getting one of those for day to day.
