Most of the generator lights I have seen sold in the USA are the Union brand flimsy toy-like things that have not improved in 40 years. In fact, if anything they are worse than ever.

Does anybody know of a good generator light available in the USA? I don't want to get into a hub generator. That is too much expense and effort.

I had some from Japan once. THOSE were nice. They were robust, reliable, and put out a very nice light. Unfortunately, I gave them all away to my friends who "simply could not live without them".:(

Whataya know?

Peter White sells some nice dynamos and headlights. I was just looking at his page a few minutes ago and thinking about getting a Lumotec headlight to use with the cheap dynamo I have on my bike now.

Just a follow up...I ordered a Lunotec 3W headlight from http://peterwhitecycles.com/dymotec.asp
and have since mounted on the bike. It is substantially whiter and brighter than the 2.4 w light that came with my cheap bottle dynamo. I think I will be quite happy with this new light.
