Hi from a 52 year old male. Married with 2 teenage children. I live near Lake Ontario between Rochester and Buffalo. I try to ride at least 100 miles a week on a Fuji road bike and also own and use a Trek MTB.
I have found the forums here to be quite helpful. A lot of questions that I've seen here have crossed my mind but I didn't know who to ask.

Pretty close. Go north to the small town of Hamlin

I used to ride from Brockport to Hamlin Beach in college as a mid range training ride... Great Area. I graduated B'port in '87. Still have a few friends up there. Is the beach still in good shape???

Yes I ride at the beach a lot. The parkway is great for a long ride to and from Niagara Falls. Not much fun in the winter though.

Hello jem3907--what kind of questions did you have that you don't know where to ask? Perhaps we can get you guided in the correct direction.

What kind of Fuji have you got?

Welcome to BF!

Yeah, very nice big open road area to ride.

Club has several rides that extend out there. Oatka creek is a sweet ride as well.

I am going to be in the Churchville area this weekend. Planning a ride on Saturday. I am familiar withe the big roads (36, 63 etc), but would prefer to avoid them. Anyone have any suggestions for a route. Looking to do 40-50 miles. Wouldn't mind a few climbs as well.

I can't wait to get back to Rochester all though I'm from the East side so I don't know the roads out that way very well.

Turd what club do you ride with? ... I was a member of RATs for a while when I was in college, but I've heard good things about the cycling club. Another reason the 1000 Islands blows, were lacking a club!

Tude, Do you ride with the Rochester Cycling club? I was looking at their web site and the cdrom they give you with like 300 bike trails/routes looks like its worth the price of a years dues all by itself

Hi East, I should list my bikes at the bottom. I have a 1980 ish Fuji Berkely, a 1985 Trek 850 series MTB
and a 2005 Fuji Forza Sihloette road bike. The main questions that I had were answered in the mechanics forum.

Yeah, it's nice to list the bikes (at least, if you have room--I've got 12 odd, so I can't manage to fit them all in there :o .

If you've got photos, the Fuji Berkeley and the Trek would be of interest to those of us in the Classic & Vintage forum. There's a running thread on 'Show off your vintage Mountain Bikes'.
