I'm pretty new to cycling (though I did spend two years toodling around in Shanghai on a tank of a bike) and recently started up again. Currently riding a Specialized Crossroads Sport to commute to work, run errands in town, etc. Also got the non-cycling girlfriend a Specialized Expedition Sport so that I can wheedle her into occasionally joining me on a trail ride -- and she LOVES it!
