Hi everyone -- I'm Maria, 23, live in Somerville, Mass. I fell in love with road biking when I stayed in Japan a few years back and have taken it up more seriously now that I live in an area with lots of biking resources and great rail trails :)
I have an old, old 6-speed Peugeot/Suntour bike that a friend's mother bought in Japan that I've been slowly improving, it's a bit of a "riced-out jalopy" if you will. It's a beautiful and sturdy little thing though, and it's bright blue so I love it. My father taught me basic bike maintenance when I was little and I love tinkering with things, so I'm slowly learning how to go beyond the basics with my bike. Soon I hope to replace the handle bars (I have flats right now, would really like some proper drops as that's what I grew up using).
