Kona Hoss--what upgrades?

I picked up a used Hoss on craigslist for $250. One of the brake cables has been torn up but the frame looks fine. The components in general don't seem to be damaged, but I wouldn't be against upgrading them to something stronger. For the back wheel I've got a sun doublewide rim I'll probably swap over to it with a 36 spoke count. What other mods have clydes done with these bikes?

Man....that's EXACTLY what I've been scanning CL for. I'm kinda wanting a MTB just for occasional fun and Kona Hoss is the one I'd like most. You rock, bud!!

I've been trying my damnedest to break mine in stock form and wasn't having much luck until this week when the rear started popping spokes. I guess 4 months of heavy abuse finally took it's toll. :D

First on my list of replacements will probably be the brakes. I have the older model with cable discs. I'd like to go hydraulic.
