I hate beer too.

But I'm not horribly fond of "girly drinks" either.

I'm more of a whiskey kind of guy (when I drink at all).

Ok I am not a troll.. Its just that too many people have been quoting beer as their motivation to ride.. I felt like I had to take a stance..

jk - you're not a troll.

I'm a Milwaukee girl - I was brought up on beer.

I'm more of a whiskey kind of guy (when I drink at all).

A girl just introduced me to Maker's Mark last week:

Woman tells me that a dented Gremlin knocked her off her bike in front of a liquor store. She traded her right to sue the insurance-free driver for a fifth of fine Kentucky bourbon. You drink whiskey? says I. Damn straight, says she. I got cash, says I. I got time, says she. And so we carouse around town, ending at an Irish pub where she unpins her wild Irish hair and settles into my arms and kisses me while the Irish boys (one of them a Chinese woman) play jigs or whatever the hell it is that the (Chinese) Irish (female) boys play.

But now my wild Irish rose won’t return my call. I bought a pint of Maker's and plan to hold an Irish wake for the death of our little relationship tonight. My roommate is joining me, and any of you non-girly drinker types are welcome.

I don't even like whiskey, though that bourbon tasted like sweet kisses.

Beer is not my motivation for anything. It ranks low on my beverage list (ten being the lowest).

1. water

2. orange juice

3. tea

4. coffee

5. soy milk

6. soda

7. mixed iced cocktail

8. vodka (or whisky in winter, tequila in the summertime)on rocks

9. beer

10. wine

I don't recommend it with all this alcohol. It's harsh on your liver.

Beer is terrible. The only kind I can stand is Killian's Irish Red. BUT, I'm one of those lucky few that can be floored by two beers.

Club soda, no ice, small straw is my bar drink of choice.

As a homebrewer, I'd say you need to give good beer another chance.

While beer isn't my sole motivation for riding, it ranks pretty high up the list. I think 9 single malt whiskys fill out the rest of my top 10.

I left my empty glass of Guiness sitting on the side table, left the room, and when I came back, my two year old daughter was tipping it up like Winnie-the-Pooh in search of that last drop of honey.

She does love her Guiness...

Meh.

Whiskey is fine - Makers Mark, crown --- prefer a nice single malt scotch - most anything made on the Isle of Islay, Jaimesons is fine - Johnny Black will do in a pinch ---- and good beer. Just had 3 Philosophers - dark and thick - hint of chocolate - and I was served this with dessert of a dark chocolate cake - yum. But I mainly prefer a draft Hoegaarden. :) No gurly drinks for this gurl.

I was a bartended for 6 plus years --- at the height - I was working 3 bars/60 hrs a week. Doubles all weekend - left my house at 10 am --- arrived home around 5 am next day - got up 5 hrs later and went back. I slept on Mondays basically. :) Made lots of money though :) And drank lots too. :)
