So yesterday I was riding to my usual trails along the river.. dotted with different jumps and random logs in the middle of small sections of singletrack downhill... I saw the most interesting things while I was riding..

I was riding along and after about a quater mile of trail I saw CDs scattered everywhere... I then saw a nice Razr Slvr laying on the ground... I was like hmmm my lucky day.. I picked it up, it worked. I was thinking maybe I could call the person who owns it but the SIM card was missing and no phone numbers existed.. I looked around and saw a sweater on the ground along with a cane near it..

I immediatly proceeded to call the police slightly dissapointed the phone wouldn't be mine, but hey whats more important? The police came and they concluded it was most likely a mugging and no crimes of that sort have been reported in the area so nothing came of it.

Has anyone else ever ran into anything strange on the trails? Have you found any good trail items?

Well I've found several, never kept them, but browsed >_>...

First thing, broken water bottle cage, the screw holes were broken off, I chucked that into the woods.
A Bic pen next to some SPF 30 sun screen lotion. Also a few reflectors. Thats about it, really.

Oh and yeah, an 8 MP digital camera that I kept.

No, that didn't happen, sadly. =[

FORGOT TO MENTION!!! Old dirtbike frame with the fork still there... Got bit by a bee while sitting on top of it heheheh....

I never found anything cool but I did lose the bite valve from my Camelbak after a little incident and didn't notice until later.

I also lost an end cap once while riding.

So this didn't happen MTBing, but Snowboarding this winter.

We were at Loveland Ski Area in Colorado. Great day of fresh powder as it was snowing all day. Last run, my buddy hands me the camera and I take some quick video of everyone cruising away. I saw he had dropped his walky talky and grapped it. Caught up to them and gave it to him. He then realized that he had also dropped his money clip with credit cards, ID, and cash. I said I didn't see it and it would be covered by snow now.

So we are back in Omaha, 4 months later. He gets a package in the mail with said money clip and everything he had lost. It had a note and no return address.

The note said that 3 or 4 friends get togather each spring to hike up Loveland when the snow melts. They found his stuff and sent it back.

Unbelievable!!!

There are still good people on this earth.

How nice. I wish someone would run across my handheld ham radio which I lost in the snow last season and would mail it back to me.

You can probably sell the used panties on ebay and turn up a profit.

From news articles about odd things people sell on Ebay. It's crazy what people are willing to buy from Ebay.

But then again, look at the folks in Japan. In Japan there are vending machines that sell used panties.

On my favorite local trail, Owls roost trail, about half way through there is a random metal water tub with a wooden post inside, some water bottles, and a cleaning rack. Why is it there. Who knows. I was riding the other night and saw a random lady on a horse.

I found one of those giant push scooters with the 10 inch wheels. I's great for the occasional extreme scoot session.

Lots of broken stuff, mostly. And lots of dead stuff. Dead possums. Dead snakes. Dead Squirrels. A few dead fish. A dead lawn mower.

I mostly just see fourties or other empty bottles, the occasional tapped out keg. I cant say I've never thrown anything into the woods I shouldnt have had but it gets ridiculous.

There's a rusty old tricycle on one of the local trials. It used to have a sign that said "Head's first mountain bike". I don't know who head is though...

I found a multi-tool once and lost a couple-o-computers.

Man - I'm lucky. All that trash! I just don't find that stuff fortunately. The odd beer bottle and old broken mining tool. Live things, Snakes, Lions, Bears (oh my!), Coyotes, Marmots, Foxes. Deer bones and the occasional fairly-fresh-mostly-picked-clean carcass. I try to take the bottles out to the trash if they're intact. Some day that's gonna (literally) bite me in the butt.

I guess the coolest thing I ever found was an entire intact lion skeleton. Took the skull home. A buddy of mine came across a rusty (obviously) 1800s revolver frame. Thought that was pretty cool.

A couple having sex on a picnic table.

I'll raise you. Four teenagers doin' the wild thing behind a tree which they thought was secluded...but the trail ran right by it, go figure:rolleyes: I bombed by them and one of them yelled 'F***!'. I said, "Looks like." and bombed on down the trail. My wife said I should have asked if they came there often.

I've also found 2 people doing the wild thing - in November - in the cold - in a truck (he was standing outside) . And a couple doing it against a tree. And an escaped blowup doll (That's just sad:D). All on the same trail...near -I kid you not- Johnson Park:D

Especially if she floats down the river from you hoping to make it to the ocean, so from there she can make it to Cuba.

This isn't a trail find per say but I found a $5 bill on the ground while riding around outside school (back in 5th grade) after a basketball game. I kept it.

FORGOT TO MENTION!!! Old dirt bike frame with the fork still there... Got bit by a bee while sitting on top of it heheheh.... Looked like a Honda one, it had the red fender still on it. Too bad it wasn't fully intact, I'd ride that home instead of the bike, sell it, and buy a better bike.

Only thing worthy of mention is... A bike!

Very old bike, it had a coaster brake. I was with a buddy at the time, we built it up as a road bike. It got named "Athlethic boy" because of a sticker on it, fatso on a bench lifting weights while eating a burger with the caption "athlethic boy". But I sucked at building wheels back then, so it didn't last very long. While athlethic boy the first got scrapped, the coaster brake lives (cannot be killed). Actually, I've ridden it today, about 25 kms or so:
