Just discovered this forum in my search for a new road bike. Been riding for 15 years, now on my 3rd bike. First two were chromoly steel road bikes with the old down tube index shifters. I gave away the first one, and the second one broke in a road accident with a car about 10 years ago. To replace it, I tried my hand at mountain biking but never really got the hang of it, so my 3rd bike ended up being the mtb ridden on the road. I'm just a casual rider, but an avid one, mostly riding solo about 5 days a week. But this mtb has been really frustrating, slow and heavy. There's been a burning desire to replace it with a new road bike and I've been scouring the Internet for reviews. Which brings me here. So there you go. Hi! *waves*

Hello NaBlade, where are you located? Nothing wrong with those cro-moly bikes (I've got more than I can name, around 12 at the last count), but I know that riding the mountain bike on pavement is slower than even I want to go :) . But if you want to see how much we enjoy those DT shifters, come visit us in the Classic & Vintage forum.

Welcome to BF!
