Nice dude...glad you got off with just a few scrapes. Im starting to mountain bike and will start when my bike finally arrives at my LBS. Trek 4500. I expect some injuries during moutain biking but I do hope I can escape from serious injuries besides bruises, cuts, and scrapes.

I'd hate to think what kind of injuries you would have suffered had you really gone on a ride on the $200 Walmart bike. You're lucky you got yours from an LBS and thus only suffered a mere scratch.

Oh, you got me. You got me so good. :o
Congrats on the new bike. My first truly good mountain bike was a Rockhopper. I still have it too, and ride it now and again. I'm slowly refurbishing it, as it's been well-used. Rockhoppers are excellent bikes. Good choice.
Bummer about the fall. I came close myself yesterday -- steep downhill that transitioned from hard-pack to six-inch deep beach-like sand. There's a knack to hitting that stuff and staying up.
Everyone crashes now and again though. I've crashed twice so far this summer.
Have fun on that bike!

If you did get a walmart bike, I would of done one of those, slowly start to tell you, your bike sucks kinda deals. Right as I expected to do soo....psych. I'm glad for your new ride. It looks good. I love the red they use on their bikes. Srry about the wipe out too. I've gone down 3 times this summer and its just something you have to get used too. Nice change up on the forum title though, it brings mild humor into the website. Ride On!
Edit: I just noticed your from Charlotte, Nc. You should come on over to Greensboro and ride the trails over here. One of them, Owls Roost Trail, is rated a top 10 trailsystem in the U.S. Give me a shout if you go and we can try and meet up. Ride On!
