with a nice 25 mile ride, part of which was with a fellow BF'er. He just moved to town. The rest of the week will be off the bike except for maybe some real short stuff. I'm doing the Sizzling Century on Sunday....and start classes on Monday!

I have a century on Saturday. My M.A. classes start on the 27th. Guess we've a few things in common :D
I will not be doing a century this week, but I just finished a summer school course. My fall semester starts on the 27th as well. http://img389.imageshack.us/img389/1297/graduatedem2.gif

My last taper is today which i'm also planning on doing a 25-30mile ride.
But on Saturday I have to work and i'm contemplating of riding the 30 miles to work with my bike. I don't know if I should, since Sunday is the Sizzlin' Century.. decisions decisions

You should be okay to do the Saturday 30 miles if you are well rested before the ride. Keep it in Zone 1 (very low effort) for the duration, and you should feel great on Sunday.
I do several self-supported century rides, and I have not found that doing a shorter, easy effort ride jsut before a century is any detriment.
