BlastRadius, I think I'd prefer non-fixed for this ride actually. Single speed would be ideal, cause that's what I usually ride, but since I don't have much experience with fixed I don't want to be worrying about possibly messing you guys up on the ride.

Bring a geared bike!! we gotta try to climb some of those insanely steep hills in SF.

I remember last critical mass I just happened upon, the whole mass of cyclist (hundreds) climbed UP the west side of Lombard (3-4 steep blocks) and down the east side (SF's most crookedest street). That was some fun!

You're probably right about the gears. As hardcore as I think I am, I'm sure I'd really love to have some gears on the hills. I'm pretty sure that Pete is bringing me a geared bike.

If hter wants to see what biking in SF is like we'd have to include a SOMA, the Wiggle, GGP and the Panhandle, Presidio, and Embarcadero.

The second Monday ride was just for you, Siu. It looks like Thursday works for ms.incredible too, so she's going to join all of us instead of planning a separate ride.


Pheard -- Would it be possible for me to travel to wherever your car is and leave my suitcase in it while we ride? Taxi777, would this be OK with you, too? Will you have the Klein? If this works, then I can just ride with the two of you to Embarcadero to meet everyone else. It would take me almost an hour and a half out of the way to drop my suitcase off at my friend's apartment before meeting you guys. I'm coming straight from the Oakland airport on BART. I tried to see if there are any lockers around there, but I couldn't find any sign of them.

If you guys swing by the Embarcadero on Thursday take a detour past 2nd and Harrison to 600 Harrison Street and wave to me on the 2nd floor! Then you can go back down Harrison to the pier and hit Gordon Biersch for some micro brew and GARLIC FRIES! MMmmmmm!!!!

Thursdays Ride Update: Got really sick with fever Bronchitis, allergies/from to many miles/and too much work, but feeling better today and still planning on riding. Looks like pheard is out so, hetr if you get off Bart at powell walk/cable car/or cab up powell, right on California halfway down block 845 California, I'll pm cell #. Can you get here By 2:30pm? Need to adust seat and Pedals? Spd/Look style/toe clips? Let me know I need to change pedals depending on that. Leave suitcase here. We will ride to Ferry building. All other plans the same. Blast Radius: Your in charge of Ferry Bldg roundup, I'll pm cell# I will be will be in TDF yellow for Identification (I know pretentious) : )

Ms Incredible: Bart to Embarcadero
Hetr: Bart to Powell and so on.....
ride down to Ferry with me (Down California street)

Pete, you are a lifesaver. I can definitely get there by 2:30. Flight gets in at 1:08, not waiting for luggage, going straight to shuttle and BART. Should be able to catch BART by 1:46 at the latest, gets in to Powell St. at 2:09.

I have your cell phone number, so I'll call you when I'm on my way. Everything sounds great. We'd probably need to adjust the seat a bit, but platform pedals are fine, whatever's easiest. (It's a geared bike, right?)

Yeap, I meant just plain regular pedals. I know it's inefficient, but I've never ridden with clips or clipless, so I doubt I'd want my first time to be on this ride. I'm probably going to go clipless soon after I get back from SF. I've only been into bikes for a couple of months, but I fell in love pretty hard.

Monday I have 2 classes, one right after 12 noon and one till 10pm.

Thursday is no good for me, at least at that time of the day. However, if you want to ride any other day you will be here then let me know!

Well, I'm leaving at 1:22pm on Tuesday. I could do an early morning ride, but I'd need to be back at my friend's apartment by 10am. I doubt the bike stores would have rentals that early, and I'm not much of a morning person.
