Ride PQ canyon and tunnel, ride will be 10-15 miles long, mostly fire roads til we get to tunnel which is a sweet single track. Plan is to do a few out and backs in the tunnel which is about 2 miles long. It drops into a canyon, so half is DH and half is uphill. This trail is less then a foot wide between the trees and slopping canyon walls. Us tall guys have to duck during most of the DH section in the tunnel. Not a super hard trail, but nothing for a 1st timer up here. The trees will test your reflexes.

Park is located on Black Mountain Road, between the 56 and Mira Mesa Blvd. When you get to the park, follow the road straight to the back of the softball fields where the parking lot is.

Coming from the North, take 15 south to 56 West, exit Black Mt Road, turn left, park is at the bottom of the hill on your right

Coming from South, take 15 North, exit Scripps Poway Parkway, Turn Left off freeway, Right on Black Mt Rd, next light on the left is the park.

Meet up Time About 6:30am before it gets hot and get on the trail about 7. Ride should take about 2-3 hrs.

Dangit, Jeff! I can't do it. In order to get my permission slip signed to ride Baldy next weekend, this weekend is spent doing honey-do's.

We're gonna have to hook up on a after work ride if you can. I know you're a busy guy.

I won't be able to make it because of Cool Breeze.

But hey, that's the place I've had my first (and only so far) mtb clinic by the GoGirls racing team! It was fun! :D

Permission slip? I thought it was a seatpost clamp bolt tied to a car hubcap.

I'm at Cool Breeze, otherwise I'd totally take my beater MTB out there. (I need a real MTB).

Cool afterwork ride when time is limited but have to hit the good trails on the weekends. Have fun. Nobel or San Juan, maybe Cuyamaca.

eehhh I don't feel like driving an hour away after throwing 500 newpapers.

Though some buddies I ride with are talking about shuttling Nobel on labor day weekend, boy it's gonna HOT up there!!!!
