Some pictures of our pair of Bouvier pups that just came home today. They're from a breeder from show dog lines which is why their ears are cropped, it's not something we asked for.

The girl (smaller) is Bella, the boy is Coors.

cool. They look like poodles in the pics, but I guess if they grow into big dogs, they're alright. :p

Bella? Why not Stella?

Meh, if she's respondin' already to a male name (think Bela Lugosi), then there's nothin' you can do. :o

They don't really respond to any names yet, they just came home and got named today :) My parents picked the names.

Nah. "Bella" can be short for "Belladonna"--definitely a female name.

Very cute. The puppies kind of look like little buffalo calves in the faces, with all that curly hair.

And Belladonna makes your pupils REALLY BIG. That was a big thing a long time ago. (But I wasn't there).

Awww... so cute. Bella is a great name, and not just because that's what we named our dog :). I think it means beautiful in Italian?

One of my German Shepherd's favorite playmates is a Bouvier named Quinn. He is a tank under that wiry fur. Great dogs.

Cute pups, Mal! Was the boy named after the beer?

Malistryx

SM, the boy was named after the Bouvier some family friends had (that I used to ride around on as a little kid), but that one was named after the beer. So indirectly, yes.

I'll have to get more pics of them being cute as they grow up :D

Nice pups. Congrats. Too funny. My brother's bulldog's name is also Bella.

It just bothers me when humans find it necessary to multilate an animal for aethetics.

I'm not a fan of it, unfortunately it's the breed standard so it's done to pretty much all pure bred puppies. It apparently helps cut down on ear infections, and in working dogs I can see it being a good thing to have the ears cropped since it would help protect the ears by keeping them from getting caught on stuff. But in a pet I really don't see the need for it.

There was a Bouvier in the agility class I took my dog through. I don't remeber his name, but he was a good dog. Should be a busy house hold for awhile :) Really cute pups Mal.

That last picture is so much like our Silky - he will do an immitation of a bear rug and all that moves is his eyes - if you look at him, the tail starts moving...

Pretty much saying - I am watch and ready to play - but I am not moving unless you are serious!

Establish dominance and show them who's the boss now or they'll take over the place. They wield their cuteness like weapons! Cute critters though. :)

They are really cute. I really love that puppy phase.

And Siu, I thought all pets had ADD. All of mine do. Along with selective deafness, no sense of time (getting me up at 4 AM) and many other adorable traits.

And Belladonna makes your pupils REALLY BIG.

Seen her in a few movies, and it wasn't my pupils that got really big...
