Here's our Wine Country Time Trial course at about 100 mph (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOwVQDsmqYU). It's got little rolling hills that are tough to see going this fast.

More stuff...

Interesting.
Is there an actual TT race on that course?
If so, when?

Every Friday at 6.00 until it gets too dark for speed. Fastest folks start last. Check it out.

Wow. Cool. I wish I'd known about this sooner. I wonder if I could make it over there tonight.....

We start people as late as 6.40 pm or so. You can always jump on the back if you need a little more time.

We do this every week, so you can jump in any time. The winds will probably tend to be a lot more favorable now that we have an "earlier" ebbing sun so it's a good time to come out. Some people don't mind the headwinds but I always find the evening a lot more enjoyable when everyone is scorching the course and coming in with big smilegrimaces.

The area rocks for grassroots cycling. Someone from one of the local shops was telling me you can race 5 days a week here, mostly unsanctioned. I need to try to get Levi out to show us his paces now that he's back in town.

Calling them "hills" might be stretching things a bit. Not sure how I'd like TT'ng past a half dozen winery entrances on a Friday night towards sunset either.

The post race fun would be good though.

Pizza would show up for sure if you started at the dam and went west on Skaggs ;)

I wouldn't know what's up that way. ;) My bike rears at the sight of vertical terror.

Yeah, these are little rollers but I like to mention them because they do get most everyone out of the saddle at least a couple times, it's close to 300 feet of vertical, and people's TT paces tend to be 3 - 5 mph or so slower than on a flat course. I guess some of the technical turns are responsible for some of that.

The traffic has been moderate to low usually. Wilson and Passalaqua sometimes have low key events but you wouldn't know about them if you were riding the course. Most folks are off the roads by six and no one's had problems taking either of the stops at speed.

We've done a couple socials afterward but people won't drink my beer. I think the protein smoothie post race went down best. Seeing you holding a Racer X ale, next to the life size Racer X at Bear Republic would be hilarious. We've gone there a couple times too.

Do you know some names on the course records list?
