I'm camping this weekend up outside of Driggs, ID and I'm feeling the urge to take my road bike along. I always get up with the sun, way earlier than my wife, so I thought I'd take a spin while she sleeps in. Anyone know of any good routes up there? Sorry I don't know the exact location where we'll be camping.

Depending on how far you want to go, you could ride over to Jackson Hole Wyoming, which isn't too far over the border from Driggs Idaho.

A long time ago I spent two weeks (late summer) in Jackson on an out of town job, so I took my road bike with me. I recall some very scenic rides in the valley area surrounding Jackson and Teton Village (where I stayed). On one of my rides I did Teton Pass, (which is on the way to Idaho on either Hiway 22 or the Old Pass Road). It's funny because I didn't start out to ride the pass, but as I rode further along I just felt like I could make it so I kept going and eventually did. However, it only took about 45 minutes so it must not have been very long or steep (or maybe I was just younger then.)

Looking on Mapquest, it looks like you would head south on 33 working your way east across the border to Wyoming, and then onto 22 which leads directly into Jackson. Looks like total mileage from Driggs to Jackson is about 33 miles. Driggs is out in the middle of nowhere Idaho (mostly farmland if I recall.) For an arial view, take a look at Google Earth.

I haven't ridden there in quite a while so I can't speak for the current road conditions, so anyone else from that area please speak up.

However, if I was staying in that area, I would definately look into it.
