Have the original Birdy frames been dropped?

And is there a weight or any other advantage on the new frame?

In my web travels in the Birdy hunt, This is what I've read...

The new design is stiffer and a tad bit heavier, but not by much. They've gone to a narrower front hub and the fold is more compact.

The red is still in the current lineup.

There are still quite a few folks with Yellows and Silvers in stock. And if you really want to torture yourself, do a 'Bianchi Fretta' search. It's all Japanese, but Babblefish does a passible job.
