The drive side of the cranks has been creaking for sometime. I would crank down on the bolt that holds them on and it would stop for a while. I have recently been unable to make them stop. So, I removed both crank arms and rotated them on the bottom bracket by 90 degrees. I took it for a very short spin and it seemed to fix it. Did i do a bad thing? (they are old shimano 105s from a 8 speed group).
I have a new bottom bracket and a ultegra 9 speed crank I could replace it with but I am saving that for the new bike I am buildinig. I still need a few more part for... :)
