Ooooooooo... I'm into Martial Arts and muscle cars.
To make money I chuck produce.
I forgot about the cars! I'm into cars, too, but not necessarily muscle cars. On the East Coast, I time-trialed a 1st generation Toyota MR2 and an Alfa GTV-6, and I recently rebuilt a 1965 MG Midget. Not enough time to do that again, though, so I'll enjoy the MG for a while before taking on my next project.
JB
I ride my motorcycle, do martial arts (Kenpo), play violin and piano, go running, hiking, and spend time with my dogs.
Day job: I do marketing for a biotech company, which has me traveling around the world quite a lot. So far this year I have flown over 90K miles. I flew over 130K miles last year.
Ah, another biotech worker. I sell biotech instrumentation in NorCal and Northern NV.
Also, my riding days are numbered. Our baby is due next month so I'll be spending more time with wifey and kids instead of riding.
Congrats to you!! Gotta get that first jersey ready. Hey!! How about a mini NorCal jersey?? :D Where's Blast Radius?? *looks around for him*
Don't forget to announce the arrival here! ;)

Oh, don't do that! Stop riding, I mean. You and your wife both need to figure out how to keep exercising and doing stuff. Your children will need and demand a huge amount of your attention - but it will be better for all if you keep doing stuff for yourselves too.

Cool, we've been looking for planner. Do you work with individual families?
I solve problems.
My MG has twin SU carbs and isn't idling right - can you balance carbs;)?

Definitely get the XS kids :D After seeing his two big sisters in their jerseys, Luke wants one now.
I play the piano, and have been doing some lately, but I want to get better. Only have like 4 years under my belt.
Before bike riding, I was a skateboarder. I own 4 skateboards. Last one I put a 150$ into it(rode it for 2 days before injuring my butt and decided to forget skateboarding). I ride those still, but can't for the life of me ollie anymore. I think it's because I'm getting older and my sense of balance is crap.
Honestly, in the future. I want to fix up a 67' mustang, or a honda civic hatchback. Yea I know. 2 very different cars, no comparison. Don't ask. :p

+1 Live healthily and your kids will do the same. If you drop everything for their sake your doing them a disservice. Of course there's a balance. Take it from your flight attendants and their pre-flight safety demonstrations, put the oxygen mask on yourself before you help your children, i.e. you aren't much help to your children if you're dead.
Cool, we've been looking for planner. Do you work with individual families?
Actually, that's kind of my target market, and is what I'm set up to help with. I'd suggest giving a quick read of my website, because I do work (and charge) differently than most financial services folks - I don't sell any products other than the financial plan itself. I can and do help find the most cost effective alternatives for anything you might need. Since I don't need to sell products, there are no minimums and I don't take assets under management, either. My model works for some people, not for others.
If you decide to set up a Get Acquainted meeting to find out more, drop me an e-mail through the Contact Us page on my website and we can get it set up.
JB
PS - there are other folks doing the same or similar things throughout California - if you decide geographically it doesn't work, check out www.GarrettPlanningNetwork.com for other financial planners who charge by the hour or by the project.
When I'm not riding I think about riding :)
I also play with my family and go running. I used to play paintball and play PC games but haven't done so in years. I used to ride motorcycles before I had kids (GS550E, GS500E, Katana 600).
I'm a Network Engineer/IT Architect for an International technology company.
I didn't mean that I'm going to quit riding all together. I just won't ride for a while.

Nice, my first bike was a GS500. :)

Yeah, actually that's what my company does too, makes and sells research instrumentation.
My day job is fixing computers, desktop support. My night job is playing drums and loud fast heavy metal music.
http://www.youtube.com/bosticman71
I compose music and try to sell on Itunes, everything from world, jazz, electronica. I play all the instruments, otherwise I stare at the wall.
Cars?!! Who mentioned cars??

Back on topic: I'm a full time Dad.
Other hobbies: Modifying and racing cars (mine and others), outdoor stuff, buying bike stuff (haha), etc, etc..
Day Job: Transportation Planner (aka Traffic Engineer) http://www.hextrans.com/
When not bicycling I'm usually either watching or playing soccer (over-35 league, next year I'm eligible for over-50 league — that's progress, huh!). Eagerly awaiting the return of the San Jose Earthquakes next season.
Interesting combination, bicycling and soccer. Other than both using the legs, totally different but seem to complement each other. Soccer develops stregth and cycling develops stamina. But soccer is definitely harder on my body!
I whine uncontrollably until I can actually get out and bike... Wait, that's not what you meant is it? Ah well. How I support myself isn't that interesting anyway. At the moment I am looking for a new career path while I manage properties and watch my investments.
Recovering from my earlier ride.

So your new mantra is, repeat after me, Separated Bike Lanes. :D
http://www.streetfilms.org/archives/physically-separated-bike-lanes/
During the day I'm sales rep for a wine distributor. Typically I spend my days driving around to restaurants and smaller retail shops in the East Bay down to San Jose.
I teach ceramics and race motorcycles

Also in biotech - corporate counsel supporting Development - when I am not working, biking or strength training I am sleeping (not enough of the latter). Work hard, play hard.

Yet another in the biotech field. I'm a patent agent at a small biotech company on the peninsula.
I am a broke grad student, he he. Ah the good old days of having a cushy corporate job, how I don't miss it. :D
I work for the guv'ment... US Dept of HUD, multifamily division.
Other than that I play on a softball team in Daly City and before I moved back from Texas I was into modding import cars and road racing. I had to sell it to move back here so now I'm into bikes. But I don't have the budget I had in TX so I can't "mod" my bike as much!
But I still do love cars and wish I had the time and $$ to spend on a '55 Chevy or '69 Camaro. I had 2 '69Camaros and a '68 Mustang before I got into import cars. All were fun for different reasons.
But in Jan when baby #2 comes in I'll be busy changing diapers (and trying to figure out how to safely strap a baby seat in my trailer so I can pull by 6yo and new baby around on the bike! hehe!
Not going to have many friends with this comment, but I follow the dodgers, so when not riding, I follow to see how they did.
I work for the guvment on my day job. I'm an IT Specialist in Radiology at the VA Palo Alto. After work I spend time weight lifting, playing with my 2 daughters and computers. Yeah, in that order.;)
martial arts (aikido). for the boring part (a.k.a. "job") I'm sysadmin at Symantec.
oh, forgot, the boring part (job) ... tech support engineer
Dodgers?!?! What's that? Cycling development team? :D
but I follow the dodgers,
thats OK with me, I'm a Mariner fan and always get a warm reception at the A's games:fight:
Steeler fan since I was a 7 or 8.

*throws stones at Spingineer* just kidding.
what kind of engineering work do you do? edit: I don't read very well, Tech support right?
I'm a ME. We work on night vision stuff, mostly military. When I'm not riding or working, I'm home chilling with my girl, drinking some wine and watching TV.

When I don't ride I try to finish my dissertation and find a job, but often I get distracted by bikeforums and other bike related websites and by dreaming about and planing bike related projects.

Hmmm, that kid has handlebars but no pedals - you'd think he would at least have to pull his own weight!
