Commuting - Rock The Bike Products/The Down Low Glow... know 'em?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

So, I'm interested in their product (http://www.rockthebike.com/lights/downlowglow)...
http://rockthebike.com/files/u1/IMG_0803_0_0.jpg
...but their website doesn't instill confidence.

First of all, their email address doesn't work.

Second, calling their phone number results in an instant hangup.

Third (but maybe really first!), their 'policies' read like some hopped-up hippie* wrote them:

1) If you click 'Credit Card Security', you get a page with a linked sentence that says,
"Here are the steps we take to ensure your personal information is not made available to known or unknown third parties."
The link takes you right back to the 'Credit Card Security' page.

2) If you click 'Privacy Policies', you get the same as #1.

3) If you click 'Shipping Options and Policies', you get this inspiring message:
"We try to give you the best value in shipping for your Rock The Bike purchases."

Now, I'd like to give these guys the benefit of the doubt... they've put a lot of work into their site, but I can't contact them!
Has anyone here dealt with them... and I mean recently ?

As in this summer?

Are they still in business?

(Yeah, I mean YOU, Cherry Garcia fans!)

I haven't done business with them, but the same DLG is available through Xtracycle http://www.xtracycle.com/product_info.php?cPath=2&products_id=74 at the same price. I've done business with Xtracycle with no problems.

Thanks, Frankenbiker!

I managed to make contact through their other website (http://fossilfool.com/http://fossilfool.com/), and was reassured that everything is still up and running over at rockthebike.com, and that the email address problem should be fixed by now.

Hope to be glowin' down low soon!

Now I just have to decide which color...

I've been looking to do this same thing, but for a lot less money. Here's my plan:

1-2 Krill lights ($20 each)
1-2 Twofish lockblocks ($3-6)

Krill's aren't as bright as neons (comparable to chemical light sticks), but they only require 1 or 2 AAs each and last 50-120 hrs depending on the model...and weigh only 3 oz each with batteries.

I'll post a review when I get this set up.

I bought the neon tube set up last year to hang on the tandem for the midnight ride in Denver last year. This year I upgraded to LED tubes.

The 2 12" Neon tubes last about an 1.5 hours on the battery pack. With 4 12'' LED tubes, I ran them 8 hours on the same battery pack before I gave up trying to run them down. The LEDs were brighter too I think.

If you can get a 12v battery pack and charger, you can rig lights for less than the down low glow set.... search ebay for LED tubes.
