Ok, ordered 2 Aitkin tires (kinetic, review?), Ti bolts for my cranks (no stripping or rounding bolts anymore), and some headset spacers.
Basically I need a new front wheel, I have for ages, what do you guys think I should get?
I'm on a budget, no expensive wheels. I can't really give an idea on price because everything is different in the US.
For example, I was thinking a Demolition Bulimia on a Rhyno Lite with DT swiss spokes. What do you think?

A pound is about 2 US Dollars.

That sounds good.
As for a wheel, I would go Wethepeople hub, rhinolight, dt swiss spokes.

My Aitken tires are great. But the front is pretty aggressive unless you ride trails.
Front whee:
Odyssey Vandero hub
36 3cross DT spokes
Rhynolite or Odyssey Hazard Lt...

The Vandero 2 is coming out soon. I don't think it would be worth getting the older one.

sure it would, they are completely different in design, and the new one will cost double as much. The original vandero is still an amazing hub.

Isnt Ti weaker than steel? And arent bolts made of steel? So correct me if im wrong, but would Ti bolts strip easier?
FitRider 921

No. Titanium is less likely to strip. To my knowledge, it happens to be stronger, just flexier as well which causes it to snap. Stripping in titanium bolts is hard to come by.

i see. thank you gunzzzzzzzzzzz.

Ti is less likely to flex. Therefore snaps more easily. Therefore not good for major bike parts.
I don't want the WTP hub, one of my friends has it and if he tightens the wheel fully, the bearings become 'pinched' and the wheel doesn't spin very well. It's not just his hub, it's on all of them.
Kinetic, I got 2 of the rear ones, I figure they'll work all round and even at trails if I ever get some made.
Also, not sure on the vandero, It is a possibility, I just love how smooth the bearings are in Bulimias

Then if I were you, I'd go with a Bulimia or a Macneil. I really want a Macneil.

I've heard good things about those rims, maybe it's worth a try.

I'd run that rim on the back if I bought an expensive hub and didn't want to spend the extra $25 for a hazard light.

i now ride a vandero and that thing is extremely smooth. recommended.
odyssey hazard light is what i wish i had and i dont really know too much about spokes.
This might be late, but for some info on titanium: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titanium

Ok, gone completely different. Bought a Shadow hub, mainly because it was cheap, a nice colour and came with a hubguard. Gonna get a rim, I really want a Primo Rim in that titanium colour

You are much better off getting a Rhynolight for the front. I have a brand new Primo rim in black sitting in my room.

Eh, I'll ride whatever I have until I break... or until I get a job and have a lot of money to spend. I don't want to waste my rim with a crappy hub and crappy spokes. It will just get abused.

Flexier means it will bend, not snap. Rigid snaps, thats why aluminum is bad on BMX bikes for frames and such. It's a lot stiffer and fatigues a lot more over time, whereas steel can bend and bend itself back because it has a certain amount of spring to it. Ti is actually a very good frame material, but not often seen due to its price.

And that's why eastern puts no warrenty on their Ti frames and the only other Ti frames are meant for Dirt or race? Light Punishment

Okay, works for me. There was a reason I said "to the best of my knowledge"...

Could also be because they put holes in it...

This is probably why. Taj had a prototype T1 barcode a few years back and i don't think he broke it.
People just need to realized that Cromoly is the best type of metal for the major parts of your bike. Frames, forks, bars and cranks have no reason to be Ti unless they are for a road bike.
The only thing remotely worth getting in Ti is bolts, axle nuts, and spindles/axles. And even then you are pushing it. If they were cheaper i'd probly have some because Ti is rust resistant and i could have all the bolts on my bike be metric.
