Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - single + fixed in one

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
ok. I know very little about fixed speeds and/or single speeds. I need a clarification. Can I buy a back wheel that can serve as a fixed as well as a single by flipping it around. If so, could you point me in thhe diirection of brands, styles, numbers, etc. thanks
Yes, it's called a flip-flop hub. But I don't really feel like finding you any links.

thanks. now I have a place to start.
I'm an avid rider, just don't work on bikes much.
this will be my first single speed.
formular/mavic cxp22 should be less then $150 for the set.

I bought my flip-flop set from wheel and sprocket (online) for around $150 for the pair. If you look around a bit its not too difficult to find a cheap set of flip-flop wheels online.

Why does every time someone asks a stoopid question here, someone assumes it is a troll?
because they'd rather think they're important enough to troll than the far more likely answer that there are a lot of stupids out there.

Actually, the two I've personally called out in the last week or so have been trolls. This time I was kidding, so I added a question mark (like the "witty" clues in a crossword puzzle).
thanks all the advice guys, I really appreciate it, I'm going to do a little visit to my LBS as well.
Hey, when it comes to stupid questions about building bikes, I'm full of them. not sure what a troll is though, I don't think I'm one - whatever,
