Mountain Biking - looking for some exotic cool looking mtbs

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I saw an ad for some Balfa bikes and they looked awesome but I couldn't find anyone that sells them on the net. I went to their site but since I don't speak french or whatever language that is it made it kinda hard to navigate my way through. Are there any other cool bikes that are like those. I like Specialized and Norcos but I want to find (and hopefully buy) a bike that stands out and makes people think whoever made that bike is a evil genius.:D

Do you want strange, or exotic? i.e., a Ferrari is exotic, but not strange.

I think the strangest has got to be a WHYTE bicycle. Let me see if I can find a pic or a link.

How about a slingshot? You may get a lot of looks but I dunno if they'll think you're an evil genius.

I guess what I'm looking for is bike companies that don't advertise much (atleast not here in the states), kinda like Balfa they aren't that exotic or strange but they're somehow different...if that makes any sense. But it is cool to see all of the bazare bikes that are made... I bet they're bomb-proof though:D

bikeCOLORADO those are insane bikes, I think I've seen them before in a magazine somewhere. They probably weigh more than my Jeep:p . What if someone just used it for XC, that would be just sick and wrong...unless they were using it for training.

 I went to unrealcycles.com and looked at the prices for the balfa's... $1400 for frame only I knew they were expensive but not that expensive. I suppose it isn't that bad considering a SC Bullit is $2500 for complete bike. There were some AWESOME bikes there though:D

beefyness... thats an awesome deal for lightweight frame like that that can handle north shore. I like this one for $575 although I think my parents might freak when they see the name:D

What about Pace. They have a very distinctive externally butted square section tubeing, as well as offset rear triangle https://www.pacecycles.com/product.asp?catID=1&subcat=441

The latest versions are a mixture of carbon and Al. In the UK, Pace are regarded as the finest CX frames money can buy.

Pace Cycles of Yorkshire, UK make the best cx bikes in the world, and with their distictive externally butted square-section tubes are a reall talking point. They are loaded with subtle design feature which you dont find on other bikes, such as their off-set (dished) rear triangle. The latest models are a really cool carbon/Al mixture.
