I have an old Paris Sports road bike that I planning on converting to a fixed gear. I would like to remove the old cup and cone BB and move over to a more modern Shimano unit. I am having trouble removing the cup on the drive side. It has a 36mm hex and Im about to destroy the darn thing. Ive tried using break free on it to no avail, any suggestions??

Hi Jay, For the right side you need a fixed cup wrench. The fixed cup is reverse threaded. The lockring and adjustable cup could be tough too.I put some masking tape around the bb shell to save the paint. If the bike has english threads,it should be easy.BUT__ being a 60's or 70's French bike someone else might be more accurate here. Chris.
