Get an iPod, and go ride alone.

It's fun sometimes.

Sometimes it's fun. After awhile it gets really boring.

I like riding alone. There is a lot less pressure to do things and you feel more comfortable riding. For example, yesterday I went out and relearned smiths and didn't have to worry about anyone dogging me for bailing or something of the sort.

Practicing smiths and going over the bars can be funny to watch. I'd rather laugh than be laughed at.

Well, its kool to ride alone and get some things off of my mind and my friends won't laugh if bail or wreck or anything. Its just that they hardly ever want to ride...lame sometimes I feel like I'm the only one dedicated that I know and if thats the way its going to be then so be it. But its nice to have people to just talk to and ride with and as for that iPod I'm currently investing in one I haven't decided if i want to get it before or after a new frame.

It's harder than it looks (or at least from my experiences). Also, please don't use AIM speak here. It gets really annoying really fast.

AIM speak?...uh sure why not. And I do smiths pretty well just extend your arms foward and strech pretty far down and back. I don't know, smiths are easy to me I have more trouble with feebles but still pretty easy. I'm starting up on hangover tooths and such.

I need to learn how to bunny hop 3 feet so I can try to grind.

AIM speak as in like "lolz" and "omgawdz."

How can you possibly have more trouble with feebles than smiths? That doesn't make much sense.

I can only hop between 3 and 4 feet. but even when I couldn't I just looked for lower things and worked up from there. It's all progression.

Well the only thing I can do grinding wise is lifting the front tire/peg on a bench or something because I stink.

Pictures? You said "only." That's a hella high hop.

What do you grind if you say thats high because handrails are close to 3 ft.

I don't know man. I know guys that can probably hop over me standing and I'm 6 foot. which is insane! and I'd love to but the best camera I have is on my phone haha.

How do you get that far up, I mean practice but seesh.

Pick the front end as much as you can (shifting your weight helps A LOT) and try to almost throw your bars almost arcing up and foward. I'm bad at explaining things.

tucking your bike underneath you helps too.

I have hopped a shopping cart, but I have never seen anyone clear a 6' obstacle.

Deconstruction

exaggeration, but this guy jeff that rides at chenga can definately clear atleast 4-5 feet and I don't know how but he's taller than me and does it on a 19.75 frame.

If you can find someone that can hop that high, I'd love to meet him. For a second there, I was starting to think that there was no such thing as God.

But really, no one can jump six feet up from flat on a 20 inch bmx bike.

EDIT: 4-5 feet doesn't sound right either.

I wouldn't say no one can, because I've seen guys from the haro team flair out of a 6 foot quarter. But then again that has nothing to do with hops and thats the haro team haha. anyway this guy jason perz (look for his video on youtube) does bunnywhips like nothing. I remember watching him at chenga whip to tap and barspin to drop in on the 6 foot halfie.

If there was someone who got from 4-6 ft on from the ground should probably be in the record book.

What do you grind if you say thats high because handrails are close to 3 ft.

Yeah, but you usually don't hop onto them at the 3' point (because you're moving forward, and they're usually going down stairs), not to mention that you don't actually have to hop over the rail to get onto it - your pegs are good 9-10" higher up than the base of your tires. Hell, we had a highest hop contest at a local park yesterday, and out of about 50 guys, only three could hop over 3', and the highest hopper "only" got 3'5".

Name one person that can bunnyhop onto the deck of a six-foot quarter from flat. Please. Oh, what's that? You can't? That's probably because it's impossible.

Comparing a flair out of 6' quarter (which isn't particularily hard, because people have done flairs out of 1' quarters before) to a 6' bunnyhop is asinine. And, for the record, one of my friends did an alley-oop flair on a 5' quarter yesterday. But, that's less of a hop, so that must be easier than doing one out of a 6', right?

I'm pretty sure that everyone in BMX already knows that Dorito can do tailwhips, and barspinning into a 6' quarter really has nothing to do with bunnyhopping 6'. Also, who the hell calls a miniramp a halfie?

I know of this wooden rail thru a park near me and its a very gradual slope and its 4' no joke and at the point you hit it it'd be about 3.5. And we have some nice industrial stuff around thats 3 foot and higher some of it I can't get but anything around 3-3.5 I know I can get.

CMcMahon
08-19-07, 11:20 PM
Yeah, but you're not going to hop 3'6" to get onto it; you're only going to hop around 2'8" to actually get your pegs onto the rail.

I'm not going to argue, debate or otherwise. Please tell me that I'm lying or making it up that makes me feel a little better just knowing I can.

CMcMahon
08-20-07, 12:01 AM
I'm not debating you can't hop 3', I'm merely stating that you sure as hell did not see somebody do a 4-5' high bunnyhop.

Although I do have a feeling that the reason that "the few people [you] do ride with are pretty lame" is due to you being pretty lame.

Deconstruction

Yeah I'm lame because I'd rather ride or even doing almost anything else rather than trip on acid or ecstasy. And I can guarantee you I know at least one person that can hop 4'. shove it dude..

So you are saying you know someone who can hop higher than Tom White, by a lot, who beat a lot of pro's in a bunnyhop contest.

I doubt it's 4 foot. You probably have horrible measuring skillz.
