Next week I will be attending a meeting for several days at the Clarion Hotel on Airport Way adjacent to I-205. I will be staying at a home near where I-5 and I-205 join. I want to commute by bicycle. I downloaded the PDF bicycle route map from the City of Vancouver. My plan is to come down Hwy. 99 in the bike lane to about 49th and pick up the bicycle path along Burnt Bridge Creek as far as Burton. Then I will follow various surface streets down to the on ramp for the I-205 bike lanes across the Columbia River.
Is it easy to find the entrance to the Burnt Bridge Creek bicycle path from Hwy. 99? How is it marked or what is a good recognition point? When I come off of the I-205 bike lane it appears I may have to ride up to Marine Way and work my way back to Airport Way. (We were in Portland this last week and drove past the Clarion. I could see the bike path, but it looked like you cannot get off of the bike path at Airport Way.)
Thanks.

The bike path is in the center of I-205. At Airport Way, it drops down the the level of Airport Way as shown in this photo.

This photo shows the route to the Clarion. Follow the black arrows from I-205 and follow the blue arrows to get back to I-205. Airport Way is a very busy street. I would suggest using the crosswalk at the intersection of Glenn Widing and Airport Way (just out of the photo, lower right) instead of trying to trying to fight your way across 2 lanes to the left turn lane.

You might want to try this route through Vancouver. 99W is a bit sketchy, IMHO. It's pretty low-traffic once you get passed Andressen.

I forgot to mention, the Burnt Creek trail is pretty rough from about Falk to Stapleton, then its really twisty to Andressen. You're better off taking side streets.

Yonderboy, thank you very much for the route. I have looked at several options, but they were guesses based on limited tools I have from a distance. The best option I had developed until yours involved riding on Hwy 99 to 119th east to 50th south to St. John's southeast to 78th east to Andressen south to Burton east to 97th/98th south to 10th east to Ellsworth to 23rd east and onto the bridge ramp. A lot of what I described uses busier streets than you propose. I would be very dependent on good bike lanes to avoid tire tracks up my back. Again, thank you. I have made detailed notes on your route. I will try to post something after I finish my meeting to let you know how it went.
