Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Question for the Clyde Tri-racers

I'm looking for a wetsuit so I can get back into open water swimming.
I can't seem to find one designed for a gentleman of my proportions:

6 and a half feet tall
250 pounds
47" chest
40" waist

Anyone know where to look to purchase such an item? Everything I've found has been listed for either the under 6'4" height, or under 220 pounds, or has a max chest of 44", or a max waist of 36" (ha, yeah right!)
I've seen some portly scuba divers around the Seattle eastside, so I know they make wetsuits in something other than the 6 foot even, 160 pound, no body fat uber-racer build.

I haven't looked into wet suits, because they are not allowed at most of the TRI events and they will not give you a time or a place when wearing a full wet suit in water over a certain temperature. You might ask the local scuba places and see where they get their gear.

I'm going to stop at a few places on the way home today and check out models and prices.

Around here the water is always cold enough to qualify for tri-fed regulation temperatures for wetsuits. (If it hasn't changed since I raced back in the early 90s, it was 76*F for a shorty, and 72*F for a full suit.)

You might want to email a few of the event planners and see who they are using for the rental companies. You can sometimes buy from them after an event at discount pricing.

I've got an old oneil super 2 dry suit that'd fit you... but i don't think you'd want to try to swim competitively... none the less oneil makes some pretty comfy surf suits that might not be to bad if you aren't concerned about going really really fast. They do custom work if you want to shell out the cash.

i lie... that suit wouldn't fit... I'm only 6 ft... how much thermal gain do you need?

I've had good luck with this company's windsurfing suits in the past. I've owned 3. -- a 5/3, a 3/2 convertible and a Shorty. Not cheap but good stuff never is.

They make the shoulders and upper arms nice and large. They also make Triathlon suits, and they used to do custom work.

They have maybe the industry's best reputation for repair/warranty. And I know from destroying 5/3 winter drysuits from other manufacturers. I've got a basement full.

PS. You think you got problems: I run 47"-48" chest, 37" waist, but 199 lbs. and 5'9". I try on zillions of XXL suits and none fit the shoulders. XXXL is too long and too big in the waist.

It's ditto with 48" jackets. They fit the shoulders, but not the waist. drives me crazy.
