Mountain Biking - Clydesdales?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

What would happen if a guy like me (5' 10", 145lbs.) bought and rode a bike designed for clydesdales. The bike in question is a Kona Hoss, and it looks to me like it would be fine, but is there really any reason for a smaller guy to not buy a clydesdale?
nope, but it'll probably be heavier than comparable bikes.

Meh, not really, I think the site said 31 lbs.

That bike, in 2002 and earlier was actually a freeride HT. Burly and tough, it was a ht build for good sized hits and very rough riding. It would in fact be heavier but there is no reason you can ride one.
Its a pretty good marketting trick really.

I think he meant "can't"
Yeah, to market a freeride HT as simply a tough bike, very nice. Especially when the market is going in the direction of FS freeride bikes. Don't scrap a design, and achieve reputation as a tough bike.

It would probably buck you right off of it. It has no respect for someone of your size. It will eat you alive.
Ride it and have fun.

i don't think they'd let you buy it without a valid clydesdale membership card. actually, i'm not sure you're even supposed to know about it...its considered a clyde wmd. :p
