I'm fairly happy today. I got a good deal. At least I think so. I went to the Performance shop to get some of those Ascent Alloy water bottles they have on sale for $7, because my wife and I are tired of our water tasting like plastic.
So, we bought 4 of them for $7/ea.
I then noticed they had a nice helmet on sale for $29. They had the Giro Indicator for $27, but hey didn't have my size, and I didn't want to wait by ordering one. So, I grabbed the Tirreno Tora.
Anyway, the total was like $62 or so, and I noticed I had about $42 in points I haven't used. So, I got the four water bottles and a new helmet for $20. :D
I have been bumming around for a helmet light, but I don't ride as much as alot of you gents on here, so I wanted to find something on the cheap. I just happened to be wandering through Target tonight, and they had this 3 Watt LED headlamp for $29. I figured I can just jury rig it to fit my helmet. The teller rang it up for $9. I don't know why, but that's the price it kept coming to, even when I asked if it was the same one they had listed. I thought maybe it was a cheaper light they hung in the wrong spot. But, it's the right one. So, I got it for $9. I'm not complaining.
I just double wrapped the strap around the helmet to make it tight enough, and it works great. I think I'll also get a small LED light for the handlebars as well, so the two can supplement each other.
So, my total invetment for the water bottles, the helmet, and a new helmet light, was only $29.
Ok, so it's just a new helmet, but still.....
Not a bad weekend. :D
