Hey everybody! I'm always bad at introductions so bare with me...

I am a university student in California majoring in mathematics. Biking is my primary means of transit, and I typically ride about 10 miles daily. I rarely find myself in a car more than once or twice a month and like to keep it that way. I bike out of enjoyment, for exercise, and to be more eco friendly. This site looks like a wonderful community, and I look forward to getting to know all you other bikers out there! :beer:

My bike is an '03 (?I think?) Diamondback Sorrento with Cygo Night-Rover dual front lights and 2 blinkies.

Welcome to Bike Forums! We have a regional section here for California. Check it out, there are a lot of cool people and lots of rides are being scheduled! I'm in NorCal. :)

Nice to meet you! I'm in SoCal but frequented Daly City and San Francisco for a number of years.

The regional section sounds awesome! I'll give it a gander tomorrow as I've got to get in early to work tomorrow.

It can be tough, but it kills both the going-to-the-gym and the staying-at-0-emissions birds with one stone. I'm also at Loyola Marymount, which helps given that most conveniences are within a bike-able range.

...It also saves me time in the long run on going to the dreaded gym. :D

I hate gyms...I don't blame you a bit for not wanting to go there :p .

And I know people are going to get mad at me, but I do think that the Northern California folks are a lot more entertaining than SoCal (but then again, I grew up in the Bay Area after spending five years or so in SoCal--in Norwalk!).

Just because I'm from your area doesn't mean it's not cool to talk does it? Did you hate it THAT much?? :eek:
