Ok, I'll start (ladies, sorry for the repeat from the Women's forum):

See my avatar, several people have independently told me that she reminds them of me. (Or is it the other way around?)

One time when I was on an extended business trip, a friend at work left this side-by-side comparison on my office door...

when I registered a couple weeks ago it was during all the Bonds hype surpassing Hammern Hank record.
I made a slight change since my name is Frank.

Uncanny!!!

Blast Radius is/was my avatar in Quake way back when. I was pretty good with the rocket launcher and scored many frags with its blast radius. It's also a play on macho game protagonists like Duke Nukem, Serious Sam, etc.

Siu Blue Wind

It originally was Siu Blue.

Siu is my first name.
Blue is my bike's name.

Then I changed it to Siu Blue Wind.
Wind is my other bike's name.

If I kept going it would be Siu Blue Wind Serenity Tien Zzzip Angelilly.

But I didn't think Brian would like that.

Tsunam...

Shortened form of Tsunami (as even back in the mid 1990's there were quite a few people going by tsunami). So I dropped a letter off of it and have used it ever since. Ever since I was a kid I loved the ocean/water so a nickname associated with water...was just fitting. Yes I've used this nick for well over a decade.

I started driving when the speed limit was 55. I don't know how they did it then. "cantdrv55" must be a Sammy Hagar reference.

Mine are love handles, but I'm trying to lose those.

Oh, that handle - first name, first initial of last name plus some random numbers since there seems to be another jonathanb out there.

I thought your name meant you always drive so fast 55 is too slow for you.

I came up with my handle a day after my last mountain biking ride. I can ride just fine but there are a couple of climbs that are so steep and so far into the course that I'm usually just so spent because of lack of fitness that I can't do anything else but walk my bike up them. Hence my handle.

My handle during my CB radio days. I use to tear up the bay area with my souped up CB but when I got married, I pretty much tossed up my CB but I kept my handle alive by using it on forums.
I always get hassled if the price of gas goes up :) but what can I say? Just remember me everytime you go to the pump.

You know, up until I started cycling, I did always drive fast. I'd drive country roads to get my fix between track and autox days and used to buzz by cyclists but never too close. Now that I ride, I don't drive those roads anymore. I also hardly do track days and autox anymore. I spend my weekends on the bike now.

and

The number eight is important on the Discworld, being closely associated with magic. Wizards avoid saying the number out loud, and Octarine is the Disc's eighth colour, the colour of magic as described in the title.

Pheard
08-20-07, 12:59 PM
When I first joined I didn't actually think I'd post more than once on this site, I just needed to ask a mechanical question. So I randomly put in Nof3ar.

Not knowing I'd fall in love with the people here, I stayed.

People called me f3arful.

I said "What-eva".

I ended up changing my name to pheard. Which is also kind of random. No particular reason.

I used to ride a lot in my 20's and early 30's. Then I stopped riding for about 20 years. In 2005, having gotten old, fat and out of shape, and having gone through some major life crises and transitions, I decided to start riding again to see whether I'd still like it. The answer was an enthusiastic yes! :D and I'm backinthesaddle again.

NOW I get it! Dunno why I kept pronouncing your name as FURD...weird..I apologize..

My handle is back from my old IRC/Chat Room/Talker college days..when I had an obsession with death and such.. :D The 632 is just NeC on the phone pad..since I think NeCrO is already registered as someone else..

Um, if you say my first and last names together really fast, it sounds like "jimples", which kinda sounds like "dimples", which apparently some people found cute a few years back.

I can't believe how much it stuck, considering it took the first 20 years of my life for anybody to come up with it.

I just found out a pinky is a mouse that's used to feed pet reptiles. The come frozen and sometimes when a reptile won't eat you have to force feed them with a "pinky pump".

Siu Blue Wind
08-21-07, 08:54 AM
OH come on!! You don't use a pinky pump!! A pinky is a young hairless mouse/rat that hasn't even opened their eyes or developed a coat yet. They are bright pink, warm, plump, juicy and easy to digest.

Ummmmm. Not that I had the pleasure or anything.

I have used them as food.

For my snakes.

As a snack.

For my snakes.

Really.

Aw geeze. Anyway. You don't use that contraption at all. You just dangle them by the tail and *swipe!* ALL GONE!! :D

BlastRadius
08-21-07, 10:12 AM
I think the pump is only used to force feed reptiles when they're not eating.
I guess pet reptiles can get stressed from changing environments and will just not eat.
My sister-in-law just bought a Jackson's Chameleon at the East Bay Vivarium and
they mentioned they hope it makes it home alive. Chameleons apparently can get so
stressed they just die.
(My sister-in-law and her husband are both vets and own the Arnold Pet Clinic in Arnold.)

What I like best is their ability to move each eye separately.

The boring and simple... Several years ago when I got into import cars and joined a Honda forum I tried to quickly come up with a name. GLee, my first initial and last name, sounded fem... like glee club... so I cut out the L and added my favorite number 3. So now, in retrospect, it still sounds stoopid. But I've had it for several years so why change it now.

Although if I were to change it I don't know what I'd change it to anyway...

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

Taxi , as in drove a taxi for ten years, got hugely obese and depressed after being pin thin. Couldn't button my last pair of pants. One day I heard about lance armstrong coming back from cancer and winning the tour. Went out in my Cab for 10 mins turned around dropped the keys off waved bye bye forever, stopped eating and rode my bike till 45 lbs fell off in 3 months. Everyone thought I had cancer and treated me nice ! Now they know my trick they try to feed me but it aint gonna work. 777 is a mystical number and represents the good in the universe :), opposite of 666  although I don't buy into that crap but it's interesting.
