ok... so i was riding XC the other day and the left crank was loose but i kept peddling on it (bad idea). After i pedaled on it for about 5 minutes it came off. I found it was stripped a little. I tightened it up, thinking it was good to go, but now it loosens up every 30 minutes. Do i need to buy a new crank set?
Also, I was urban mtb'ing today and jumped a six stair and my back wheel popped. (with a Kona Kikapu [full suspension])
the funny thing is, i jumped the same set of stairs with a $200 full suspension walmart bike and it was fine.
How is it that my kona tire popped but not the walmart bike?

Tire pressure differences? Maybe you hit something at the bottom and pinch flatter, lots of differences. As for the crank, I've had the same happen, but I was careful not to pedal hard until I got home to tighten it. Just grease the little nut thing and crank it as much as you can, IDK what's the max it should be at, but it hasn't broken yet.

the bike is only 2 weeks old
i think it was a pinch flat because it took about 5 seconds for all the air to come out

If it is a pinch flat, it happened because you were not running enough air in the rear tire.
I think your Kona was just smarter than the Walmart bike. It was telling you that you aren't supposed to do 6 stair drops to flat on a Kikapu. The Walmart bike isn't smart enough to know any better.
