HA sanyone here ever set up a Sturmey Archer 3 speed hub (AW) to shift from a bar end shifter? I vaugley remember seeing instructions on how to do this. Has anyone here done it or am I making it up? My memory can do that sometimes!

I'm sure I've heard of it, and have every confidence it can be done. Not, obviously, indexed. Sheldon's done it, as I recall.

Bike Friday also did it with their Sachs 3 x 7 systems. The middle gear range is guess but you get used to where the correct lever placement is. Roger

I did it on my ASC for a while, worked OK. Top and bottom gear were no problem, just fully loose and fully tight. The only mildly tricky bit is second gear, but with a bit of practice you learn where the lever needs to be.
