I'm looking for an odometer, I don't need anything fancy, just something that will log and display how many miles I've gone and maybe a speedometer might be fun but not necesary. any suggestions for one that is relaiable but not to expensive.

I found a cordless schwinn on sale and bought that for $29. Thought the cordless feature would make the front end look sanitary. 2 weeks later, it quit working. Turns out the sending unit at the wheel had a battery in it and it is left on all the time. It was a 12V battery that cost $9. wonder how often it will have to be replaced. I don't think I would recommend going the cordless route.

Used a Walmart Schwinn cyclometer for years (the wired type). 10 bucks at Walmart, just make sure you calibrate it (as with ANY cyclometer) so you get accurate distance information. Used it on my one month tour from SC to TX, never had to change the batteries.
I've never tried a wireless but if you do a lot of off-road biking, you might want to consider a wireless as the wire can get caught in twigs and sticks and break off. I've lost one this way.
I use a GPS now.

i am currently using this same comp its dirt cheap and the only problems ive had are cold weather freezes thescreen but im not sure if it affects the odometer or not. the pickup is magnetic and the computer itself is battierie powered but mine is a year old on the original battery
