my commuter/city MonoCog 29'er. I find I don't really need gears in flat south Louisiana.

I'll likely get a headlight eventually but I don't do much night riding and the local laws only require a tail light for night riding.

The wheels are stock MonoCog 29er wheels which consist of Alex DH19 rims and Redline singlespeed disc hubs (manufactured for Redline by Formula). It's not the greatest wheelset but does great for commuting purposes.

Hey, man, I thought you said that is your commuter bike! Where are the fenders, rear carrier, lights, coffee cup holder, and other "stuff". You've got a lot of accessorizing to do, Dude! :D

(PS: Nice ride!)

You may not need gears, but it rains alot there----no fenders?

Those tires are loads of fun. They are pretty heavy but kevlar reinforced. I think the tread is designed to start talking to you in turns, because it does that. I can lean the bike way over and those little grooves in the side tread start squeaking. They offer tremendous grip and at 2.35" offer a nice cushy ride as well. I fear no potholes or curbs, I actually look for curbs to jump. The bike really feels like a huge BMX bike.

not yet. It hasn't rained much since I've been commuting. If it does rain I usually just wait it out. There are some wide 700c fenders at the LBS I work at part-time, I just haven't tried them out yet to see if they'll fit. Those tires may become a problem when finding fenders to mount. It'll likely have them sometime in the future.

Love your setup. I need a fixed gear w/ those pedals. PBR cap rocks!

I use planetbike's new 29er fenders on my Karate Monkey set up just as yours (v-brakes, big apples). they work great. I had to find some new v-brakes to fit over the tires and fenders--tektro makes some cheapie ones (12 bucks for a pair) designed for balloon tires that are great.

Thanks. That's good stuff to know. I'll definitely look into that.
