Sunday evening is not the time to be messin' around trying to do whatevers to the BF's. That is like the time when everybody wants to express their weekend happenings. Seems silly to me. Other forums I contribute to do "housecleaning" in the middle of the night. My updates on my computer are done in the middle of the night when get this...no one is using it!:eek:

This was most definitely an unscheduled downtime.
Joe, I liked your old message that said "Bikeforums down, go ride your bike." Very appropo. :beer:

Thank You for the reply. Just a small "burp" with the BF's that can be dealt with.

Hmm, that's happened to me 5-6 times this weekend. I've only been on BF for a month, always on my laptop, always wifi, always with Firefox. For the month everything's been fine, now this weekend, I'd have chunks of time unable to load a BF page at all, I thought it was high traffic volume as well, but when it happened just now, at 1-2pm on a Tuesday afternoon, I had doubts and opened it up in IE instead of Firefox, it worked. Now I've cleared all private info from Firefox and it's working again.
Yet for the entire month I had no problems whatsoever. I occasionally have this type of intermittent problem on the forum for Tropico the game as well. My intuition tells me it's one of the adverts that's causing it. If we refuse the wrong cookie (and I refuse lots), it blocks the whole page from loading. So maybe it's a new ad that's only been here a few days?????
An annual BikeForums.net membership is very expensive and I want every last dime credited back to my American Express account. Oh, wait a second... ;)

You mean the ads from the nice people that used to help pay for the site? You block them out? Shame on you.

:eek::roflmao:
Oh I see the ads, I just refuse the cookies!
Actually, I've dispelled my own theory the other day as I ended up having the same problem on a clean IE session, so I'm at an absolute complete loss as to why I lost BF a dozen times in the past 4 days, not today however :)

I liked that too and when he used to put up the link for gabby, that was a good time, all the regulars would log on gabby for a chat :)
Sunday evening again and down for about 4 or 5 hours. Like clockwork.:)

Not enough red stars to prevent it yet.

I don't think it has anything to do with red stars, or budgeting. Of course, I'm out of the loop on the IT side. If it was scheduled, they could have let someone know, in order to make an announcement. Oh well.
