Commuting - waterproof shorts/riding pants

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I've searched the forums some and have been unable to find any topic focusing on waterproof riding shorts or pants. I need some, it's starting to rain a lot in Chicago and while I have my showers pass jacket, my pants get soaked. Does anyone have any websites or brands to check out? How about shoe covers?
Sorry if this has been posted before, if so, feel free to redirect me.
Thanks

Cabela's has their own brand of "Dry Plus" rain gear that I've found to be quite economical and effective. It performs like Gore-Tex. Having said that, I've never been comfortable on a bicycle in waterproofs (they work great on the motorcycle, however). I prefer something that'll keep me warm even when I'm soaked (most winter tights do this) or run a soft shell pant that'll take about 90% of the weather.

Any number of booties will keep your feet dry. For warm weather rain, I just get wet, except for my feet. I find that anything that keeps the rain off also tends to make me sweat more, even Goretex.
Fenders will help keep the gunk off of you.

As stated when it's warm I just get wet. For cool/cold weather rain I use a pair of Bellwether Aqua-No Pants (http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?category=6000137&subcategory=60001209&brand=&sku=15473&storetype=&estoreid=&pagename=Shop%20by%20Subcat%3A%20Tights%20%26%20Pants). No mesh liner, breathable & packs up small. :)
